Preserved

And Jacob called the name of the place Peniel: for I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved.” Genesis 32:20
Christ told us that those who “lose” their lives in this fleeting world, “shall preserve it.” One loses his life by choosing to love the LORD more than self.
“Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.” Luke 17:33

In the above words of Jesus, we see the consistent teaching of man’s free will being involved in receiving final salvation. Jesus says we must “lose” our lives in order to have them preserved (John 12:24-25; 1 Peter 1:9, etc.).
Paul the apostle of Jesus prayed for the preservation of all believers:
“And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” 2 Timothy 4:18
Jude 1:1 shows us that it’s only those who are “sanctified by God the Father” who are “preserved in Jesus Christ.”
“Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ, and brother of James, to them that are sanctified by God the Father, and preserved in Jesus Christ, and called.” Jude 1:1
“Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.” 1 Peter 1:5
Those in Christ who remain in fellowship with Him “are kept by the power of God” and that’s “through” their “faith” and not automatically. “Without faith  it is impossible to please him.”
