“And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him.” Mark 1:10
As you sink down and die to self daily, the heavens will open and God’s Spirit will descend upon you and your situation. As you give up your right to be right, God will make things right. As you surrender your justifiable grudge God will convict the other party of the wrong way he treated you. As you yield up your control techniques, God will take control of people around you. As you give up the remote and the thermostat, God will bring the perfect program and temperature. As you turn the other cheek, God will convert your offender.
The Christian life is lived by a daily humility, a daily baptism. The heavens open and God moves, in your heart and in your life.
