“The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords.” Psalms 55:21
The Bible tells us that in the last days, those who have a mere “form of godliness” will be “traitors” or betrayers (2 Timothy 3:1-7). There are actually people who befriend Christians, especially those doing the work of Christ, in order to fabricate lies against them, slander, and then seek to discredit them. Beware! And also, know that your judgment comes from the one Judge of your soul – the LORD Almighty! – “Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal. 3 Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress. 4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer.” Psalms 17:2-4
There’s only one Judge and it’s not you or I.
“WHO shall lay any thing to the charge of God’s elect? It is God that justifieth. 34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.” Romans 8:33-34
Jesus promised these persecutions, wrong condemnations, and afflictions would happen and told us to rejoice when they do for they only prove our oneness with Him! See Matthew 5:10-12, 1 Peter 4:12-14 and James 1:2-4, 12.
“The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart: his words were softer than oil, yet were they drawn swords. 22 Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved. 23 But thou, O God, shalt bring them down into the pit of destruction: bloody and deceitful men shall not live out half their days; but I will trust in thee.” Psalms 55:21-23
