“Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually.” 1 Chronicles 16:11
The kingdom of God is first and foremost and eternally about the KING of the kingdom and His blessed glory and not ours. All things that He created are created no for our pleasure but rather for His (Revelation 4:11). The idolatrous self-seeking notion that underlies the message of the vast majority of “Christian” books and sermons is a self-serving and sinful abomination.
“Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” Revelation 4:11
Seek the face of the LORD, feed His sheep, win lost souls…. and cease trying to build “your” “ministry” ….. we have no ministry per se … only the Father, the eternal Word – Jesus, and Holy Spirit have a ministry ….. they just choose to use those who will meet the requirements…… If God uses us, it’s for His eternal glory and not so we can garner and gather people to follow us …. Consider these words from the LORD’s apostle Paul:
“Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;” 2 Corinthians 3:5
“For we preach NOT ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus’ sake.” 2 Corinthians 4:5
“But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:” 2 Corinthians 1:9
Unless overwhelmed by the Holy Ghost and filled full of the written Word, we have no business trying to do ministry. We must be so full of His blessed Spirit that, like His servant Jeremiah, we can no longer hold it back – “Then I said, I will not make mention of him, nor speak any more in his name. But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not stay.” (Jeremiah 20:9) Did you notice that Jeremiah tried hard to keep his mouth shut and yet, being so full of the zeal of the LORD, he was no longer able to?
God bless each of us to settle the issue – trash ourselves (die to self) and elevate Jesus alone! John the Baptist cried “He must increase, but I must decrease.” (John 3:30)
“For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.” Romans 12:3
Get that “sentence of death” in yourself beloved and then God will raise you up in His timing and power to truly be used of Him! Sentence to death yourself, your ambitions, your self-will, and all that is of self. See 2 Corinthians 1:9 and search out, pore over, and memorize each Scripture in this message.
Many wish to be anointed so they can do exploits but they have never been taught that the anointing or presence of the Holy Spirit, should first be to help us die to self, be buried, and raised up in His power for His good pleasure (Romans 8:13-14). May God truly anoint our lives to be dead and buried with Christ so that He can raise us up in His power and use us to bring glory to Himself alone (Romans 6:3-4; 2 Corinthians 4:10-12).
Beloved, lay down your life right now. Make your whole life about Jesus Christ and being used of Him to SERVE others (Matthew 22:37-40; Philippians 2:3-5).
